I work as the Senior GIS Project Manager at the National Trust for Historic Preservation and lead a small team to use and promote GIS as a tool in historic preservation. Through GIS data analysis, map-driven storytelling, and online tools, we show the value of understanding place and location in the context of preservation topics such as climate change, historic tax credits, equity, and cultural heritage.Prior to joining the National Trust for Historic Preservation, I worked extensively as a consultant in land and water conservation, providing GIS analysis and cartography for local, national, and international organizations.I also work closely with Rivershed SPC, an organization that directly engages communities, governments, and organizations to guide working land protection, climate resilience, and watershed restoration. In this purpose-driven work, I provide geospatial solutions to small nonprofits that are often engaging with GIS for the first time.
