During the past 25 years I have held various positions within the IT sector both as an employee and as a consultant. As Director of Professional Services I managed a geographically distributed development team accountable for Artificial Solutions’ Delivery and Presales activities in Scandinavia and Germany. Apart from active management aimed at keeping all resources maximally utilized on billable assignments the role also meant working closely with Sales in order to identify, analyze, plan, sell and develop new business with regards to existing as well as new accounts. The job also contained elements of Business Consulting and Project Management. As a Business Consultant my main role was to motivate potential customers to engage with Artificial Solutions by analyzing qualitative and quantitative input and articulating costs related to Customer Services Operations. Furthermore my mission was to effectively gather customer business requirements and gain a deep understanding of customers’ key goals, business pains and opportunities, and translate these into a solution architecture.
