About Konstantinos A. Nedas

Dr. Nedas is an advanced specialist in the fields of geographic information science and asset management. His professional experience is concentrated in managing and executing complex geospatial workflows and projects with intense data interoperability and processing requirements. He has a strong technical background in spatial data infrastructures, asset management, GIS software, spatial analysis, data modeling, spatial databases and web mapping services. His technical expertise is matched by a solid academic background, an international outlook, excellent communication skills, an ability to motivate people and an aptitude in adapting to different working roles within multicultural and multidisciplinary teams. Constantine Nedas is currently working as an independent geospatial consultant, collaborating with private companies and public organizations in the context of European programmes, while simultaneously advising several geospatial startups.In 2013, Dr. Nedas succeeded as a finalist among a highly competitive group of 600 candidates in the European Commission’s Open Competition for spatial analysts (EPSO Open Competition COM/AD/09/10 -Official Journal of the EU C 54 A, Vol. 56, 23 February 2013).Previously, he served as an advisor to two ministers of environment, and as a board member in the Greek National Mapping and Cadastral Organization supervising the Geoinformatics department. While in these roles, he was the national delegate to the E.U. IN.SP.IR.E (Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe) Committee and the lead architect of the application of the INSPIRE Directive in the Greek Public Sector.Worked also as a lecturer in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2008-09) and as a graduate research assistant under professor Max. J. Egenhofer in the NCGIA (National Center of Geographic Information and Analysis), USA. Acquired his Ph.D. in Spatial Information Science and Engineering from the University of Maine, USA.
