I currently serve as a monitoring, evaluation, and learning specialist at World Resources Institute, where I contribute to the global effort to end tropical deforestation. In this role, I am facilitating a co-designed monitoring and learning approach to 6 global and 3 regional environmental strategies, guiding strategy facilitators, the strategy advice and approval bodies and thematic experts through the process of strategy development by probing the causal logic underlying each strategy’s theory of change. Through this process, we are identifying key results and drafting objective statements to arrive at a realistic and focused set of indicators with targets to collect baseline data against. With over 15 years of experience in the field that began in the Caribbean, my expertise spans a range of conservation topics including spatial analysis for protected area network design and marine spatial planning and supporting ecosystem-based adaption management through strategy development with monitoring and evaluation techniques and smart data visualization. Here are a few highlights from my journey so far:● Facilitating a co-designed monitoring and learning approach for a global collaborative aiming to end and reverse tropical deforestation by 2030 while delivering just, sustainable development. ● Coordinated the development of the politically endorsed monitoring and evaluation framework of 6 strategies and 4 sub-strategies related to Caribbean Sea governance, sustainable fisheries, habitat degradation and pollution with the United Nations. ● As part of the Caribbean Regional Science Team at The Nature Conservancy, I played a pivotal role in conservation strategy development, guided regional and local conservation efforts, and developed a centralized spatial data library to support critical decision-making.My passion extends to both marine and terrestrial ecosystems, especially if shelled reptiles are involved. Feel free to reach out to me.
