I enjoy creating the cement that makes tech systems work. I have been working in software development for about 4 years now and it is crazy looking back at all the experience I've accrued in such a short time. My first internship pre-graduation taught me the in's and out's of operating throughout an SDLC with help from a small team. When I was hired, I learned about the importance of version control using Git, maintaining a local site directory, multitasking and managing several ongoing maintenance tasks for the software I was working on.Fast-forward to now, I have learned that good code isn't necessarily a series of repeatable steps, but rather a mindset towards scalable, and efficient practices. I've found that documentation, unit tests, and reusability are much more important than making the most optimal and efficient code solutions that save memory, runtime, etc. Software development to me is all about making your code as simple, adaptable, and easy to understand as you can.Learning and developing new practices and understandings of all the technologies out there is an infinite landscape that will never be fully explored, and I've set up camp right in the the heart of its valley!
