Kobus Stadler comes from a background in Petrochemical, Oil and Gas, having worked as an EIT and young engineer for Mecghem Engineering and 20+ years for Sasol Technology, -Synfuels, and -R&D in South Africa, with positions ranging from Technology Area Leader to Principal Mechanical and Chief Process Engineering positions. In 2014, Kobus joined KnightHawk Engineering (KHE) in Houston USA as President of the company at its head office in Houston, Texas, USA. Today, he functions as Managing Director and Chief Engineer for the KnightHawk SA branch, a South Africa-US subsidiary company focussing on SA, EU, US and Middle East clients, for which he frequently steps into Sr. Consultant and Project Technical Lead roles for the priority projects KHE performs for its major clients. He is directly involved in developing and executing a multi-discipline approach to solving complex engineering problems, thus providing solutions to some of the most challenging problems and major operational threats in the industry. Mr. Stadler leads and oversees projects executed worldwide by Specialty Engineering, Materials Laboratory, Field Service, Product Design, and Customized Testing experts. He routinely plays a key role in new product design, expert legal opinions and provides owner/operators with guidelines in repair/replace or run-as-is decision-making involving Failure Analysis and Fitness for Service (FFS). Kobus is an expert in code design, routinely personally performing or supervising FEA, CFD and DEM, RCA and FFS level 3 analysis, with +30 years of experience in Detail Design, R&D, Project&Engineering Management, Operations & Maintenance and Sr-Management roles in Oil, Gas and Clean Energy industries. Mr. Stadler brings front-line experience and has a passion for technical excellence and values supporting and working alongside colleagues and clients.
