Chief Engineer/Airframe Ipt Lead
Current• Accountable for and heavily influenced design and development of the airframe (mechanical/electrical design, stress analysis, aerodynamics, thermal, RF, etc.), mission system architecture, and systems engineering tools, processes, and artifacts for the largest capital investment in company history.• Established and led cross-functional collaboration to ensure mission system Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Systems Engineering, and the airframe development teams derived requirements for program execution. • Managed and influenced design gates (SCR, SRR, PDR, CDR) and served as a stakeholder for gate approval along with the PM and CTO, then presented content to corporate leadership. • Collaborated with cross-functional teams to provide program requirements in the form of a Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix (RVTM) and served as technical approver of all data package elements for verification and validation (V&V). • Defined risks and developed schedule- and cost-effective mitigations for both technical and program risks.• Directed the team developing program Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and technical team spend plan at kickoff.• Utilized Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools to understand impacts of component failure, removal, or addition in a system-of-systems to inform sparring and line replaceable unit (LRU) choices inside of budget constraints. • Provided programmatic decision making using a holistic approach considering performance, production, and sustainment impacts to meet and exceed program milestone dates and budget.
