Responsibilities as Vice-Chair were primarily to be the face of the organization externally, raising funds and increasing exposure. Kojo worked closely with the Chair and the Executive Director to enact the vision of the Board of Directors. Kojo sought and managed sponsorships as well as new funding avenues for the organization.- Led the organization into its first Space Act Agreement with the NASA Office of Stem Engagement. - Implemented a regional integration plot which resulted in a successful onboarding of SEDS-USA as a partner organization of the Texas Space Grant Consortium (TSGC). - Spoke at the Human to Mars 2020 Summit on space education for the Artemis generation on the behalf of SEDS-USA with over 100,000 virtual attendees.

The research interests of the Ecker lab lie in polymer science and biomedical engineering. Dr. Ecker's aim is to combine both fields to develop next-generation biomedical devices based on smart polymeric materials.- Learned various techniques in processing and synthesizing polymers in the lab.- Learned proper cell culture techniques and prepared the appropriate cell culture media with the proper sterile technique- Analyzed data via Dynamic Analysis Machine (DMA), Excel and recorded procedures, results, and conclusions thoroughly in the lab notebook - Used the DMA to measure the performance of polymer at variant stresses, strains, frequencies, and temperatures of polymers.- Acquired design skills in learning to conduct meaningful and effective lab experiments to support both my own individual project as well as the overall lab goals- Sharpened collaborative and scientific communication skills through participation in weekly lab meetings, seminars, and presentations.- Conducted extensive literature reviews to identify materials of use for special prosthetics liners for Astronauts in space to limit perspiration and odor.

An independent pilot comparative analysis research study assessed the posture and muscle activity in trumpet players using motion capture and electromyography. We successfully resulted in a submitted abstract to the Performance Arts Medicine Association (PAMA).The software operated in the study was Cortex which visualizes spinal differences between marching band performances and concert band performances. Unique methodology to isolate muscle groups activated during both situations to pinpoint how posture can affect plain levels.
