About Kojo Sarkodie

Kojo Sarkodie is a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math advocate and aerospace-defense industry enthusiast. He engages in a number of engineering community service activities focused on technical development, research, and advocacy. Kojo served as the Aerospace Deputy Director with the National Society of Black Engineers and is a Founding Partner of the Zed Factor Fellowship Program. In 2024, Kojo was named a International Astronautical Federation Future Space Leader Fellow by the Future Space Leaders FoundationPrior to entering the Aerospace & Defense industry, Kojo was a summer research intern at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in 2019. While at BCM, Kojo would read about the different paths medical professionals can take in order to support NASA's mission of human spaceflight and research. During Kojo's collegiate years his passion for space exploration propelled him into an unfamiliar space where he had the opportunity to serve as the Vice-Chair Board of Directors for Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS-USA), which is the largest student-run, STEM organization in the world. In his tenure, Kojo led SEDS-USA into a Space Act Agreement with NASA Office of STEM Engagement and co-created the SEDScast national podcast.In the fall of 2020, Kojo represented SEDS-USA when he spoke as a panelist at the Human to Mars 2020 Summit about the future of space education for the Artemis generation.
