Sales Lead In Gujarat And R&D Intern
    Fykays Engineering Pvt.Ltd. May 2024 - Jul 2024
    Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India
Since May 2024, I have been interning at Fykays Engineering, where my role has encompassed a variety of tasks that have significantly contributed to my professional development. My internship involved visiting numerous rolling mills in Gujarat districts such as Ahmedabad, Himmatnagar, and Bhavnagar. During these visits, I met with plant directors and CEO's and discussed the engineering solutions our company is designing. These interactions were essential in understanding the practical challenges and needs of the industry. In my capacity as a sales lead, I was responsible for identifying rolling mills and billet/ingot reheating furnaces not only in Gujarat but across India. Starting from scratch, I systematically gathered contact details through various rolling mill associations and the Indian Institute of Foundrymen. This process taught me valuable skills in networking and data collection. I then communicated with these contacts to present and discuss our engineering solutions, enhancing my sales and communication skills. On the R&D front, I collaborated with our team to improve and refine our metallurgical solutions, making them more robust and effective. This hands-on experience with real metallurgical problems has strengthened my technical skills and problem-solving abilities. Collecting data from steel plants and working on these challenges provided a practical understanding of the industry's intricacies.A significant part of my internship was working closely with our director, Kripa Kandade, whose mentorship has been incredibly inspiring. Her leadership and vision have provided me with deep insights into the steel industry and highlighted the critical need for automation to improve efficiency and sustainability. Our company's mission is to save as much fuel and steel as possible through the implementation of automated PLC/PID-based systems, which aligns with the broader goals of the industry to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

Collaborated closely with Prof. Pradipta Ghosh on a significant project titled "Electro-deposition characteristics of NiCo alloys on Ti-substrate with varying parameters," which was conducted in the Metallurgy lab.Our objective was to deposit NiCo alloy onto a Titanium substrate utilizing the sophisticated MULTI AUTOLAB M204 setup. This involved meticulously controlling various parameters such as current density, deposition time, and electrolyte composition to explore their individual impacts on the final film thickness and microstructure. To achieve this, we employed a systematic approach of independently varying each parameter while keeping others constant, enabling a comprehensive understanding of their effects on the electro-deposition process. Subsequently, the deposited films underwent rigorous characterization utilizing advanced techniques such as X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).Through XRD analysis, we elucidated the composition of the deposited films, while SEM allowed for detailed examination of their microstructural features. This meticulous characterization provided invaluable insights into the electro-deposition process, offering a deeper understanding of how varying parameters influence the final properties of NiCo alloy films on Titanium substrates. Our collaborative efforts in this project underscore our commitment to advancing research in materials science and metallurgy, with potential applications spanning industries such as electronics, aerospace, and renewable energy.

Collaborated with Prof. Harmeet Singh on groundbreaking research investigating the "Role of Geometry in load-displacement curves in Elastic Rods." Our project delved into understanding how the force-displacement behavior of materials is intricately linked to geometric parameters.By discretizing the fundamental differential equations of Elastica using the finite difference method, we employed Wolfram Mathematica for meticulous computational analysis. Our study, rooted in the assumption of material non-deformation and solely geometric changes under applied forces and moments, uncovered profound insights into the relationship between geometry and mechanical response. While the direct task presented minimal challenges, our primary focus was on solving the inverse problem, wherein we sought to engineer geometry to match given force-displacement curves. This involved crafting a coherent system of differential and algebraic equations, ensuring parity between unknowns and equations.Though successful in achieving accurate solutions for lower mesh sizes, we identified the need for more robust methodologies to handle computations effectively, particularly at higher mesh resolutions. Our pursuit to enhance accuracy and efficiency at elevated mesh sizes underscores our commitment to advancing computational mechanics and materials science. This collaborative effort underscores our dedication to pioneering research at the intersection of applied mathematics, computational engineering, and material science, with profound implications for diverse industries and disciplines.
