Technologies used: Vertica DB, Python, bash, Hadoop/Hive, Zabbix.Designed an algorithm for synchronization of spatially separated copies of a database (Vertica DB) and implemented the algorithm for a customer-facing reporting backend active and standby databases. The algorithm considerably improved the backend's stability and data consistency, while also reducing network load.Designed an ETL process transforming telephony logs (Hive scripts and Java UDFs) for RC's Finance dept. The completion of the project required coordinated collaboration between internal customers, business intelligence team, external auditing companies, and external contractors. The project's completion was followed by a series of internal and external audits, which were passed seamlessly meeting all necessary deadlines.Routinely worked on numerous tasks (debugging, data deduplication, validation, enrichment, etc.) maintaining ETL pipelines constituted from Oracle, Vertica and Hadoop ecosystem technologies.Prepared a series of ad-hoc reports investigating various internal business metrics (change in product usage, users' churn, feature adoption, etc.) in close collaboration with an international team of business analysts, data scientists and product managers.
