As a Business Intelligence (BI) trainer I train people in the development and usage of BI solutions and -tools. Examples of subjects are:- databases- ETL-tools- multidimensional databases (cubes)- reporting- self-service BI - desiging data models (for example Data Vault, Dimensional Modeling)- Big Data tools- Data analysis toolsI also develop new courses, mainly on customers' request.

As a business intelligence developer it's my responsibility to design and implement data warehouses and Business Intelligence solutions.This involves designing ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) processes, reports, desiging and tuning database and much interaction with business users. It also involves training the business users in the correct use of BI tooling and applications.

It is my job to manage BI applications already delivered by Info Support, but too large for customers to manage by themselves. This includes the processing of change requests and communication with customers.

At the Inspectorate for Social Affairs I've designed and developed RAO (the "Risico Analyse Omgeving" - Risk Analysis Environment). RAO is a tailored system for linking several governmental sources, to monitor data quality, and to automate reporting across this data. Integration projects run isolated from each other, and have to be both operated and administered by a few analytical (not IT) users. This requires an end user-friendly approach to administering sources and projects as well as an agile approach towards source integration while being able to add custom logic.I'm the single developer / designer in a team together with three 'information analysts' (analytical users taking care about integration) and three 'analysts' (end-users and consumers of the integrated product).

At Inlichtingenbureau, my job is to lead a development team in the creation of a new transactional database system. This system has to determine which Dutch citizens are eligible for governmental support. The new system must have a future-proof architecture - for example, batch-driven communication via files should be easily replaceable with message-driven communication via web services. Besides, it has to take over the jobs of two existing systems, while extending their functionality.The job consists of much consultation with stakeholders, design (functional as well as technical) and development.

SBGGZ (Stichting Benchmark GGZ) benchmarks mental healthcare providers in the Netherlands, providing reporting their effectivity and how they compare with each others.To report on this effectivity in a safe way, a Data Warehouse solution was built with a secured reporting environment. This solution would serve all major mental healthcare providers, as well as insurance companies. Security and scalability were very important during the development of the Proof of Concept as well as the actual solution.

With the advent of Windows Phone, the Silverlight development platform made the leap to a new device. When developing one application for the desktop as well as the phone, this opens new possibilities of sharing a part of the codebase. In my research, I covered the issues with shared codebases across multiple platforms, minimizing DRY violations and looking towards new challenges when developing for multiple platforms.Part of the research was the actual (parallel) development of an application on two devices.

At Axini I did some development in Ruby. Because of Axini's nature (developing and providing automated test tools) all my software must be developed behavior-driven too. The most recent project was an automated accounting system.

From september 2008 till june 2009 I assisted students at the courses programming 1 (Java), data structures and programming 2 (C).This involved assisting students during lab courses, designing lab courses and correcting students' work.

During the christmas shopping period I was a free lance pianist at Magna Plaza, a large shopping mall in Amsterdam.

I was responsible for developing (php/mysql) of some major websites.

Created a digital video travel guide to Amsterdam, including back-end Content Management System, support for an infinite number of languages on one structure, Google Maps integration, shopping cart system and much more.
