• Lead the knowledge transfer effort between different functional groups within Altasens: design, characterization, test and applications.• Manage day to day activities of the characterization engineering group.• Responsible for all stages of pixel and sensor characterization of CMOS imagers for varied digital imaging applications, from still photography to broadcast cameras.

• REA (Responsible Engineering Authority) for production test and test equipment development for next generation IR night vision goggles and weapon sights. Responsibilities include product flow control, test equipment development and implementation from concept development to an integration of a production ready test set.• Responsible for test development and design verification tests of state of the art focal plane arrays for varied tactical and strategic programs. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and characterization of both detectors and test equipment. Measurements include gain, quantum efficiency, NEI, starvation, saturation and other program specific requirements.• Responsible for a series of Design Verification Tests for VIIRS (NPOESS satellite) imaging arrays. The tests were designed to evaluate and predict the performance and power dissipation of the three VIIRS imagers at possible “on orbit” conditions.

• Responsible for test and characterization of state of the art focal plane arrays for varied astronomy and defense applications. Responsibilities included troubleshooting and characterization of ROICs and complete detectors. Measurements included illuminated gain, quantum efficiency and well depth measurements, as well as low-background dark current and read noise measurements in IR Labs dewars. Data acquisition and analysis were performed with a custom IDL based software suite.• Responsible for test data base creation and management. That included designing the architecture that satisfied various groups within Rockwell, creating the database in Microsoft Access and maintaining it

• Created a Telcordia compliance test lab utilizing both in-house equipment and outside services. Created Labview software to take measurements, analyze data and store both raw and processed data. • Built a complete Final Test Lab to characterize passive optical devices at varying environmental conditions. That included determining requirements and specifications, and writing Labview software for equipment control and data analysis. Led the effort to create process documentation for all final test processes.• Supervised a team of test engineers, technicians and operators that supported final test operations and “in-process” test activities to identify non-conforming product as well as to determine and implement corrective actions.

• Defined and controlled all product specifications and customer product requirements and performed SPC analysis on in-process measurement data. • Designed and set-up trade show booth, and presented Arroyo Optics product line to the customers.• Developed Labview software and integrated hardware for custom in-process live-update optical test and measurement systems for both open-loop and closed-loop processes. • Built a MS Access database to store and track critical performance parameters as well as generate reports for senior management and test datasheets for customers.
