After initially working as a lecturer in music and digital media at Hull University for several years I became Level 3 BTEC Creative Media Production Course Manager at Access to Music in Lincoln where I developed their initial Digital Media curriculum. I progressed from Access to Confetti College in Nottingham in 2016, Initially running a successful BTEC Level 2 Games Course and then moving up to Level 3 BTEC Game Art Course Leader in 2017. In 2020 I took on the role of Curriculum Leader for Games at Confetti overseeing the Games provision at FE and HE level. During my time at the University of Hull I was also involved in a project using speech synthesis in Radio Melodrama with Dr. Chris Newell, and, as a result of this, later joined the CreST. (Creative Speech Technology) research network based at York University as leader of the CreST Documentary Team from 2011 to 2013. I have worked with various clients on several freelance media project briefs, a ‘Community Music’ project based around Folk Music and the Digital Scarborough event that took place in Scarborough, in March 2010 & March 2012.Alongside my media and teaching work I am an active musician recording and performing live around the UK and Europe, under the name ‘Kosmischeboy’ and more recently as ‘Duty’. I’ve worked on several remixes under the Kosmischeboy name, most notably for German industrial icon Wumpscut. I make up one half of the online music and multimedia project ‘Quiddity’ and have been involved in several successful releases across most current music and video platforms. In 2010 I joined with ‘Temple Music’ and ‘Orchis’ touring all around Europe; I played with ‘Orchis’ when they were invited to play at the prestigious ‘Wave Gottik Treffen’ festival in Leipzig, (DE) in June 2011. I have featured on several ‘Temple Music’ recordings which have been released all around the world. Finally I am a live member of the band ‘Black Tempest’ playing as part of their multimedia ‘Space Opera’ performance at Supernormal Festival (UK) in 2012 and at their appearance at the Woolf Music Festival (UK) in 2013.
