As President, modernizing our management approach and way of doing business has been my primary focus. I started in the insurance industry in 1974 when the environment was more ‘Mad Men’ than ‘Allie McBeal’. During my time at the helm of Staebler I have seen big changes in the market place, customer preferences and employee expectations. I believe in ‘keeping it real’. That is why it is important to me to be genuine with our clients, staff and insurance companies. I place high importance on quality, transparency, honesty, and keeping our clients’ best interest top of mind. My goal is to make sure we consistently give our clients a really complete and accurate review of their options so that they can be confident they are making the right decision. I was born in Canada, but grew up in England and returned to Canada in my 20’s. When I’m in England I seem Canadian, but when I’m in Canada I seem English. I have been both an underwriter and a broker and have held positions in both the U.K. and Canada. Fundamentally I am a foreigner in all lands! While it has sometimes made things more challenging for me, on balance it has been a huge advantage, giving me more of an appreciation for diversity and inclusion and making me ruthlessly friendly. I have been lucky to have always had a lot of energy and enthusiasm. I love to have fun! I am inspired when I am around our creative, engaging, and enthusiastic team. Our brokers have their clients’ best interests as their top priority at all times and are passionate and dedicated advocates.
