Hello! My name is Kailey Kraft and I am a rising senior at Miami University working towards a B.S. in Quantitative Economics and a M.A. in Economics from Chicago, IL. I am currently an economic research intern on the regional team at the Chicago Fed, working on developing models in R and looking at data on rental vacancies within cities in the 7th district. Last summer, I worked as an Economic Research intern on the Money and Payment Studies function at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. As a research intern, I had the opportunity to utilize Stata to conduct analysis on how balances and reserves held at the bank have changed during the Great Recession as well as how they differ by bank size. On campus, I am the co-president of the Women in Economics club, have served as an Undergraduate Associate for both ECO 201: Principles of Microeconomics and ESP 103: Creativity and Innovation and am an EcoRep. I am also on my school's College Fed Challenge team, which was chosen as a national semifinalist in the fall of 2021. I am currently focused on strengthening my quantitative skills and starting my Master’s thesis. I have experience with Python, SQL, R and Stata and plan to expand my coding knowledge as I continue my education. My research interests mainly involve the economics of education, especially how college financial aid can affect student outcomes heterogeneously across demographic data. I am interested in working as a research analyst or entering an Economics PhD program after I graduate in May of 2024.
