Profile bio

About Karthik Rajasekaran

My name's pronunciation can be found here: https://www.name-coach.com/karthik-rajasekaranMy interests lie in managing technical professionals and managing/designing systems that are designed to provide a technical solution to climate change. My most recent experience is in concentrated solar power, but I also have an extensive background in petrochemicals and refining.I graduated from MIT Systems Design and Management Master's degree program in May 2022. In this program, I learned how to use systems thinking to create effective and creative multidiscipline solutions to large-scale, complex challenges in product design, development, and innovation. My Master's thesis was titled "Integrated design of third generation concentrated solar power plants under uncertainty" and my advisors were Prof. Olivier de Weck and Prof. Richard de Neufville. In my thesis, I use NPV to compare the conventional "build large" approach and a proposed "build modular" approach to a Gen3 solar tower CSP plant using both deteministic and stochastic inputs. Using stochastic inputs, the "build modular" approach is preferred over the "build large" approach, with emphasis on how flexibility and learning rate affect the performance of the "build modular" approach.

Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Customer Service, and 13 others.
