Pets are not just companions, they’re part of our family and no one should have to experience the loss of their pet. At Findpet, we make sure pets find their way home.I started exploring the PetTech industry during a Startup Weekend where we discovered that there was a need in the market for more tech-oriented solutions in the pet care industry. An industry worth over 75 billion annually. We researched what the current needs of the market launching various solutions from video consultations for pet owners, a social network for pet lovers, a marketplace for pet-related goods and services, a platform for pet adoption and then from this we came upon a problem that needed to be solved – getting lost pets home using computer vision and machine learning.As someone who has experienced the loss of a pet before, when we started exploring this problem by talking to others in the industry, we realised that this was a common problem and personally knowing what it feels like, I felt that we had to find a solution. In fact, every 3rd cat or dog are going to go missing at least once in their life.I decided to take my previous experiences from the various industries and roles I had fulfilled to help build a solution. I’m not a tech person by trade, I have versatile experience launching FMCG products and whole manufacturing plants, sourcing products from Asia, designing and executing engineering solutions, familiar with B2B and B2C, even completing an MBA and providing consulting and corporate advisory services. I teamed up with my co-founder Alex who has been on this journey with me through testing and trialling our previous ideas for the pet care industry. He brings the tech side and together we have been working for more than 5 years and this our 3rd joint startup.We are continually growing Findpet to ensure that every pet is returned home to their families and improving our service and product offering. We are looking to partner with animal shelters and veterinary practices or any other pet care service companies of startups.
