About Eric Krause

Currently serving as the Visitor Relations Program Manager with Jefferson County Open Space in Colorado. What does this mean? Great question. At the end of the day, I’m a problem solver, a teammate, a learner, and a leader. There was an issue with overuse and excessive crowding in the Open Space system, so I built visitor management criteria and compiled a 60 page guide using Adobe InDesign. There was a rapid increase in commercial use demand that became unsustainable, so I developed fair, equitable, and consistent park permitting criteria, then built permit request applications using Civic Plus and a permit repository using Microsoft Sharepoint. JCOS desires to be a data driven organization, but had little visitor data, so I (working alongside a fantastic and talented team) built a data collection program using a variety of sensors (Trafx, Eco-counter, Road Runner), calibrated those sensors by creating a mobile app in ESRI’s Quick Capture, built an inventory of the sensors using ESRI’s Survey 123, and built data visualizations using Microsoft’s PowerBI. A ~$5M project was stalled for several years, so I negotiated with all stakeholders to find consensus and build a path forward. These are just a few examples of complex tasks that I handle using my diverse skill set of strategic and analytic thinking, emotional intelligence, compassion, general nerdiness, and relentless curiosity and passion for continued learning. Boredom does not suit me well. As such, I consistently search for problems to solve and projects to support. Please reach out if you have a complicated problem and could use an extra hand.
