About Kris Clark

A thought-provoking drug discovery professional who leads integrated projects through the different stages of pre-clinical development from target identification to candidate nomination. Combines strong analytical and problem-solving skills with expertise in chemical biology, genetics and proteomics to identify and validate novel targets for the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, which are increasingly exploited in immuno-oncology. Effectively converts this knowledge into screening cascades and pharmacodynamic biomarkers to drive the development of clinical candidates. Closely involved with the delivery of two candidate molecules in the (immuno)oncology space with one currently in phase I clinical trials. A highly effective mentor with a proven ability to develop high performing individuals and teams as well as internal and external networks that operate collaboratively to deliver project results within agreed timelines and budgets. Passionate about working in an innovative environment at the interface between academia, biotech and pharmaceutical industries and thereby contributing to the next generation of therapeutics.

Mrc Protein Phosphorylation And Ubiquitylation Unit, University Of Dundee May 2009 - May 2014
    Dundee, Angus, Gb
•Discovered that inhibition of Salt-Inducible Kinases induces an anti-inflammatory gene signature in macrophages and represents a novel strategy for treating inflammation. (co-inventor on patent)•Mapped the signalling pathways regulating TBK1/IKKi activation in innate immunity. •Identified novel cell-based biomarkers for TBK1/IKKi activity using chemical biology and phosphoproteomics methodologies. •Supported our partners in the pharmaceutical industry on projects to validate key drug targets.
