Administrative Assistant - Fire Department
CurrentAs a primary point of contact for the Community Risk Reduction Division of the Springfield Fire Department, I report directly to the Division Chief of Community Risk Reduction. In that role, I provide advanced level administrative support to ten members within the Support Services Division. Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual statistical reports, charts, and graphs on fire department incident responses for multiple divisions and agencies including accreditation, fire prevention education, and community engagement. Coordinate and schedule all requests for fire department participation in community events, holiday celebrations, and fire prevention and life safety education requests. Schedule, plan and oversee implementation of our annual Fire Prevention Month, in partnership with over 60 regional public, private and preschool institutions to provide fire prevention education to over 13,000 students from Pre-K through fifth grade. Supervise the Fire Department’s permitting process and the issuance of fireworks, tent, blasting, and bonfire permits. Ensure compliance with state law and City policies regarding the release of public records from the Fire Department are fulfilled within timelines established by City Administration and the State of Missouri Sunshine Law statutes. Utilize modern office software programs, including Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel, in creating reports, flyers, memos and correspondence daily.
