Before joining BRND WGN in 2007, I was employed as a senior designer at Volume, one of the UK’s top 100 marketing and design agencies working predominantly in the IT and Telecommunications sector focusing on B2B marketing campaigns. Kris’s knowledge amassed through working with some of the leading UK creative directors on concept development through to full design execution of various campaigns and projects has proved to be a significant strength in building the design arm. Kris’s experience ranges across brands like Dell, Oracle, De La Rue, Genesys, Novartis & Le Meridien.

Silicon Valletta is an association that brings together CEOs of digital businesses based in Malta.The scope of Silicon Valletta is to build stronger relationships among professional Maltese start-up entrepreneurs and provide opportunities for its initial forty members to meet face to face in a social setting. This would encourage direct communication, cooperation and knowledge sharing as well as reassure development of new Maltese professional start-up entrepreneurs and act as a central point for government and other stakeholders to consult and lobby with.

I was actively involved in the preliminary work, research as well as the setting-up of MaBu, and today head-up the Branding & Communications function within the organization. My role primarily focuses on the organization’s corporate identity and online marketing presence; which ensures that brand strategies are well developed and implemented. This ultimately involves managing how MaBu communicates to its target audience; through effective brand marketing and advertising programs, consistent messaging across all print and electronic media, as well as monitoring media coverage to identify key information on potential investments and communicating back to current or prospective investors.

Working predominantly within the IT/Telco sector and focusing on B2B activities.I have had the opportunity to work with some leading creative directors, working on projects right from concept development through to full design execution, as well as art-working where the need arose. Projects included Direct Mail, Electronic Mail, Product Catalogue, CD-ROM, Web-Page design, Software Application/Interface design, as well as Interactive PDFs and Flash presentations.

Communiqué Creative is a Marketing & Communications agency offering a comprehensive range of services and high quality production capabilities, specialising in creative within the marketing and communications profession.Key responsibilities included Concept Development through to design execution; Advertising; Brand and corporate identities; Job research and planning; as well as working to tight deadlines.I contributed to the restructuring of job distribution within the studio, for a faster and more efficient outcome. I won the pitch for ‘Le Meridien, Malta’ winning over a large account for the company. I also took on colleague’s duties in the time of their absence, ensuring that jobs got done and no backlog created.

This was Part-time work which I undertook whilst completing my final years at University. I found this extremely rewarding and it served as an effective teaching experience.Key responsibilities included face-to-face client briefs; Origination and design of brochures, leaflets, business cards, logos, and small adverts; Directly dealing with printing houses, finding the best value whilst maintaining high quality prints and seeing to client satisfaction.I had the opportunity to get a real hands-on feel for the profession. Having visited a number of printing houses helped improve my understanding of how the printing process works, from film output, to plating, to various finishing effects.
