I am an experienced research coordinator overseeing a multifaceted study focused on identifying biomarkers for lung cancer. With expertise in conducting pulmonary function tests, cell culture experiments, sputum induction and collection, I ensure efficient execution of these tests. I carefully select team members, coordinate participant visits, and diligently document their general well-being throughout the study. Furthermore, I adeptly process biological samples like sputum and bronchoalveolar lavage, separating fluid and cell components, and conducting cell culture experiments with human lung cancer cells. I am responsible for organizing and storing samples in a systematic manner using a -80 freezer and liquid nitrogen dewar. Additionally, I play a crucial role in steering research efforts across the SFVAMC site, San Francisco General Hospital, and UCSF Medical Center, facilitating collaboration and maximizing resources. With a strong commitment to excellence, I have collaborated with the Principal Investigator to recruit and enhance the skills of research assistants and staff members. I have also actively engaged in analyzing new project ideas, conducting literature reviews, generating research summaries, and exploring new clinical cohorts to contribute to the advancement of our ongoing lung cancer biomarker research.
