A media production of Season 1 of the period drama web series Queen (in 5 languages), a fictionalised biographical series inspired by the life and times of star and politician, Jayalalitha. This magnum series was a triumphant challenge to delve into and manage the production and release of this acclaimed period drama. As Chief AD, it helped me delve into both logistic, production as well as creative, performance arenas while bridging it all together allowing the actors, stars, directors, crew (art, sets, costumes etc) and others to work optimally.

Music Video - Creative and Executive Producer

Worked with the Response (Art and Edit) team in Chennai and write for a variety of supplements. In addition, main responsibility includes co-ordinating and managing the real estate weekly supplement (on Saturdays) including editing, overseeing production, proofing etc in addition to writing.

A challenging position in a fast growing new company; this requires me to wear many hats in the organization. Part of the management, the focus of my responsibilities is maintaining and growing client accounts. The many roles include overseeing P&L on my accounts, process & workflows, product delivery, client communication, internal communication, HR management , Sales & Marketing etc. While currently based out of Chennai, this keeps me on my toes and traveling between our centers of operation in the US (TexTech Inc), clients, and India.

This is the US wing of TexTech International Pvt Ltd. It was an interesting experience to be involved with the merger and assisting the transition from the Vermont office.

In addition to my production management responsibilities, I also took on communication, CSR, and Account Management responsibilities - primarily working with Pearson Education - Prentice Hall and some other publishers. The focus of this role was in facilitating dialogue between the clients in the US and production teams in India in addition to business development.I worked out of PHHE (in Upper Saddle River, NJ) a few days a week and also handled other publishers such as John Wiley and Sons, Lippincott Wilkins and Williams (Wolter Kluwers) etc in 2005. It brought me in close communication with publishers to give a wider understanding of the industry, workflows, and expectations.

This role was a new experience and taught me the basics of publishing. Rather, it would be fair to say it compelled me to understand textbook publishing and associated media products. This division was created by me from the Data Conversion group after having brought in enough new media work and expertise to sustain an independant department. Hard work and team organization went in to make this one of the fastest growing and most productive teams in the organization going from 8 to 35 personnel in the first year and turning around $650k in the process from nil.This required extensive product research, coming up with new training programs, careful HR evaluations, specialized subject matter developement and thinking out of the box to deliver highly complex projects on compressed schedules.

This family held partnership was first created and launched a highly successful tv show in Tamil television out of Chennai. While being part of it since high school, I started seriously working as a producer of the show starting from Production design and went on to understand various facets of production. Our show ran for a length of 158 weeks and provided an opportunity to learn all about running a media business.

I worked and assisted in running the Gemini Agri-horticultural farms as well as the bird farm. This was alongside of my doing my degree in biochemistry and hence was able to supplement my learning and growth in both places. I also was introduced to and rapidly helped develop complex genetic charts and breeding plans for aviculture working with premiere breeders world over. The Gemini bird farm is one of the largest avicultural setups in the world with one of the largest collections of parrots/variety of birds in Asia. I was mentored by my grandfather at this time.

This was a plant and horticultural nursery that was run solely by me and started when in high school. This nursery was set up and provided plants wholesale to landscape professionals and other retail plant nursery stores. Specialities included seasonal flowering potted plants in large numbers raised from imported seeds. Work involved and learning included first exposure to running a profitable company, tallying accounts, people management, sales management, sourcing issues, quality, etc. This was a successful venture that went from zero to a profit of Rs.350k per year in the first two years and continued to grow.
