Lover of landscapes and new ideas. Fascinated by human experience and all our weird and wonderful ways of being. Femme. Multi black-belt. Day-dreamer. Speaker. Artist. Archaeologist. Educator. I dig old stuff, both literally and figuratively. Fuller bio:I'm a settlement archaeology expert and veteran field archaeologist, who runs feminist history and educational tours in Greece, as well as hiking tours of Zagora on Andros. I'm currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the AAIA (Athens), one of the Harvard Centre for Hellenic Studies' Early Career Fellows in Greece, Treasurer of the Australasian Women in Ancient World Studies society, and Emeritus Director of the Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens’ Digital Horizons Project – a vocational training project for archaeology students. I specialise in Greek Early Iron Age (EIA) archaeology, social history, field methodologies, and the site of Zagora on Andros. However, her interests span Mediterranean archaeology, Greek history, digital archaeology, and intersectional feminist theory more broadly. My research is informed by 15 years of diverse field experience on over 35 projects in Greece, Cyprus, Jordan, and Australia. In addition to my passion for archaeology, feminism, and Greek history, I'm also an avid martial arts practitioner, with over 25 years of dedicated training experience in Taekwondo. Since 2001, I have been an Instructor and Senior Instructor at Wolves Martial Arts (Blue Mountains), before founding my own school White Tiger Korean Martial Arts in Glebe in 2009. Sadly, I had to close my school to pursue my archaeological dreams, and find new training venues for my students. But the spirit lives on! Presently, I live on Andros, conducting research and student training in support of the Zagora 3 project and my forthcoming publication "The Material Home in Geometric Greece: A Social Archaeology of Zagora on Andros". Research interests and teaching strengths: • Early Iron Age Aegean settlement, society and material culture• Household and spatial archaeology • Cycladic and Cretan archaeology • Settlement dynamics and urbanism• Ancient Greek social history • Gender archaeology and intersectional feminist theory• Digital archaeology • Behavioural archaeology (lived experience and site formation processes)• Archaeological theory and methods• Social and cognitive approaches to the use and meaning of objects in ancient contexts• Contextual approaches to iconography and representation in the Classical world• Personal development and ESL: https://preply.com/en/tutor/3239665

The program offers a range of roles including data entry and management, field-recording, archival digitisation, visual media, metadata processing, GIS mapping, and illustration. We offer a well-structured volunteer program which - after initial training and periodic additional advanced training – is student driven, under the management of our Volunteer Coordinator and Co-Director, Thomas Romanis, and Project Founder and Director, Dr Kristen Mann. The program is designed to foster teamwork, responsibility, and independent task management while affording opportunities for leadership training and growth. We exist to help digitise all legacy field data (notebooks, sketches, buckets, photos etc) from our Archaeological Content Partners, process said data in suitable databases and digital software, while simultaneously offering archaeology and heritage students to opportunity to gain real-world experience and professional training. -
