During the summer of 2016, I worked at the SF headquarters. My individual tasks included assisting in the planning of the annual BrightBytes Summit, which takes place in October. I spearheaded the hunt for restaurants that could host at least 100 guests, booked travel for guests, and worked in collaboration with the Creative team to create ID badges for candidates. My individual tasks included assisting in the planning of the annual BrightBytes Summit, which takes place in October. I spearheaded the hunt for restaurants that could host at least 100 guests, booked travel for guests, and worked in collaboration with the Creative team to create ID badges for candidates. I also helped coordinate team building activities such as 5K marathons and packing backpacks with school supplies for underserved students.After the summer, I worked remotely for the company from LA as the main coordinator of onsites for Engineering and Customer Success candidates. This included communicating with candidates to book their flight and hotel and creating schedules for the onsite. I also occasionally conducted initial screening calls with candidates to gauge their interest and fit for BrightBytes. The Social Science Writing Initiative is a pilot program launched by the Undergraduate Writing Center at UCLA during March 2016. The goal of the program is to ease the transition of students in Social Science majors from taking general education courses to major-related upper-division coursework. As a Peer Learning Facilitator (PLF), I provide written feedback on context, writing style and organization, and grammar to students several times a quarter on their class assignments. I handled the coordination of phone and onsite interviews for candidates applying to the Customer Success team. I also kept track of the candidates' stage in the hiring pipeline and kept a record of team feedback after phone interviews. In addition, I organized and updated the company's Salesforce data regarding different districts and schools. BrightBytes is an educational technology start-up in San Francisco that is focused on using data analytics to improve education. As a Customer Success intern, I conducted research on various topics, including compiling an extensive list of Education Service Agencies (ESAs) and their children organizations and aggregating assessment dates and school calendars for all 50 states. My work was mainly done to support the Customer Success team's ability to anticipate their client's future needs.
