Water Chemistry Lab Manager - Water Chemistry Technologist
Current-Manages the Water Chemistry and ICP-MS laboratories, including preparation of lab budgets and the organization and coordination of sample analysis. Provides expert advice to clients on chemical analysis methodology and negotiates cost recovery and schedules for samples analyzed for external clients-Conducts an array of analytical procedures on scientific samples from research projects in forest ecology, forest health and forestry practices requiring a broad knowledge of procedures for chemical analysis-Provides training, supervision, and related human resources services for technical staff in the Water Chemistry and ICP-MS labs-Designs and reviews quality control protocols for Water Chemistry and ICP-MS labs and maintains quality control records. Identifies and corrects operational concerns and informs clients of operational changes-Determines equipment needs and administers procurement and maintenance of all scientific and technical equipment, and service contracts-Develop and maintain databases of analytical results from the Water Chemistry and ICP-MS labs and ensures proper archiving of all information-Maintain current knowledge of health and safety regulations, related best practices and ensure a healthy and safe workplace
