PUC Services Inc. is a customer focused company safely delivering competitive, high-quality utility-related services. We are owned by the City of Sault Ste. Marie and have been a proud community partner since 1917. The utility services we provide customers with include; electricity distribution, water treatment & distribution, and wastewater treatment.
PUC distributes power to over 33,000 customers across a service territory of 342 KM2. Electricity is delivered to our customers through a network of over 740 KM of overhead and underground power lines. We also provide safe, reliable, and potable water to over 26,000 customers through 470 KM of watermains.
A team of 180+ dedicated employees operates our multi-service utility. Our staff is made up of hardworking; engineers, project managers, supervisors, electricians, technicians, operators, financial professionals, recent graduates, and summer students. These committed professionals are responsible for; maintaining our community’s electrical & water distribution systems, managing the city’s wastewater treatment plants, and providing exceptional customer service. Our team is committed to ensuring that the lights always turn on and that the water remains safe to drink.
