About Kristi Mungure

I love to curate learning experiences that inspire lifelong learners. Truly effective learning experiences that are underpinned by learning theory. My learning journey so far: I started University fascinated by human physiology and science and fell in love with teaching and the learning process. I taught physiology at the University of Otago and studied Higher Education two years into my Higher Education career. I found learning theory fascinating and studied self-regulated learning (SRL) in the context of my teaching in Physiology. I found that students at risk of failing physiology were generally not completing the self-regulated learning cycle of forethought, performance and reflection. I found these students would repeat the same ineffective learning strategy over and over out of fear of changing their learning strategy and failing. My research that year was fascinating and it introduced me to learning theory, pedagogy and andragogy. I have since built such a passion for teaching and learning, and relocated with my family of 4 to Melbourne in 2023.
