The original request for the new system was simply to automate a report, but once the end users saw what I could do for them they approved a rewrite of the system and it was adopted by the entire office. I was responsible for every aspect of this system from discussions with the end user, architecture, design, development, testing, documentation, and training.After KBR acquired BE&K, I also became the local manager for engineering software, representing the Birmingham office's needs and interests to KBR global. I was responsible for the technical schedule, software development, database, and documentation. - Lead developer on project to automate customer service letters. - Lead developer on project that used rules to identify and mark related life insurance policies (for example: policies where the beneficiary of one was the insured of another) and “learned” from the matches which rules were most likely to find matches and use those first in subsequent searches.
