My career with the US Army in Aviation was versatile, starting at the rank of Private, progressing to Airborne and thus finishing my 25 years with experience as a Standardization Instructor, a Platoon Sergeant, Quality Control Supervisor, Maintenance Advisor, and as the Brigade Transition Non-Commisioned Officer In Charge (NCOIC) while assigned to Ft Bragg, NC; Ft Belvoir VA, and retiring from Schofield Barracks, HI. I completed 25 years of active duty military service including three deployments to Afghanistan totaling 27 months, as well as completing 4 overseas tours combining to over 7 years.While serving as a Platoon Sergeant and Standardization Instructor for multiple aircraft types, I accumulated 1740 of my career total of 2830 flight hours, and 860 of my 1300 career total Night Vision Goggle (NVG) hours. While assigned to the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, I worked with the UH-60M Project Management Office, United States Army Aviation Logistics School (USAALS), and the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE). I was responsible for ensuring the Brigade's timely completion of the transition, by facilitating and tracking all training requirements required to rapidly and successfully transition the Soldier and civilian contractors in the Brigade's fleet modernization from UH-60s to UH-60M and CH-47F. This transition consisted of over 600 personnel: pilots, flight engineers, crew chiefs, and maintenance personnel from 9 separate MOSs. In my annual evaluation reports it was often annotated by my superiors that I “demonstrated superior maintenance management skills”.

During my tenure, I conducted both flight and maintenance advisor duties as a Level 1 TAA SOF advisor while embedded with SMW and other Afghan Special Security Forces.My role included Mi-17 Flight Engineer Instructor and consulting on Special Mission Wing (SMW) Special Operations Advisory Group (SOAG) during Operation Freedom's Sentinel in support of the RESOLUTE SUPPORT mission.I served as the only US Army Department of Evaluation and Standards (DES) and designated Non-Rated Crewmember Instructor for the Mi-17 aircraft. I administered eight US Army flight engineer, crew chief, and flight instructor evaluations and directly assisted with 12 US Army aviator qualifications in the Mi-17 helicopter. I was responsible for assisting in the training of 14 Afghan crewmembers in the same capacities. I executed Mi-17 Standardization Instructor responsibilities for more than 20 joint, coalition special operations aviators, and 50 aviation training contractors.
