I served as a Research Assistant at the Ohio State University where I created and improved processes in order to create novel applications for wound healing and organ perfusion. I also developed procedures and processes for pilot scale production of polymerized hemoglobin. I supervised undergraduate students on the synthesis of polymerized mammalian proteins and protein purification.

While working as a R&D Intern, I received a 3M Discovery grant in order to develop groundbreaking wound dressings outside of the ordinary scope of the department. I also performed design experiments to optimize biopolymer gel synthesis for advanced wound care dressings. I incorporated preliminary data to develop optimized conditions for pilot scale production of wound dressings.

Synthesized nanoparticles as an antibacterial agent for household cleaning products. I also analyzed different nanoparticle interactions and their properties, as well as antibacterial and phase solubility of certain nanoparticles. My research in this position ultimately resulted in the acceptance of a utility patent.

Madison, Wisconsin Area

While working as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, I synthesized nanoparticles to be used in biological weapon detection devices. I also analyzed these nanoparticles using UV-Visible Spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, and dynamic light scattering.

Greater Milwaukee Area

As an R&D Intern I analyzed conditions in induction furnaces to determine optimum settings for sintering inorganic powders. I also processed solar panel raw materials, revised chemical process work instructions to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices, and implemented processes that would result in enhanced process control and the reduction of production costs.
