Responsible for leading the successful planning, engineering management, execution, monitoring, cost control and closure of capital expenditures for Zone based projects. Direct project teams and define team resource requirements to ensure successful engineering execution and construction implementation within an operating environment. Ensure capital projects meet quality expectations and business objectives. Assist development of capital plan budgets and ROI calculations. Initiate/manage cross-functional teams and multi-disciplinary projects. Define project execution plans and develop team structure for project implementation including engineering and execution approaches. Manage and monitor engineering efforts for multiple projects. Validate design constructability and ensure engineering is on-time, complete and accurate.

Responsible for providing oversight and review of the design, installation, and implementation of the utility systems impacted by projects chartered by the Strategic Initiatives department. This includes Water for Injection high purity water generation systems, industrial steam generation, electrical power systems, compressed air and nitrogen systems, glycol and ammonia process heating and refrigeration, tower water, HVAC, Facility Management Systems, (FMS) and sewer systems. Provides daily oversight on project status, providing reports and gap analysis to complete projects as defined by project schedules. Generates detailed turnover packages, standard operating procedures, and system maintenance requirements

Project Engineer is responsible for designing and managing project work in a manner that ensures timely, safe, and cost effective project implementation. Main objectives of the position include project design with equipment and material selection, assisting with resource planning, and overseeing project execution activities. Apply sound project design engineering principles. Provide overall project management from project initiation through completion. Develop accurate project cost estimates. Develop and maintain accurate project implementation schedules. Conduct and/or assist with project reviews/project review finding follow-up. Develop clear and concise appropriation requests. Provide accurate project forecasting and progress reports. Work with Project Planners and Construction Field Coordinators to define project implementation requirements. Work with Project Planners to select and purchase materials / resources. Visit job sites to validate conditions, work activities and other factors. Accurately document project files and closure information in a timely manner. Provide engineering assistance to other personnel to facilitate application of plant and corporate standards/procedures and other regulatory requirements. Provide guidance for development and maintenance of plant standards and safety requirements. Identify cost improvement opportunities and project execution efficiency improvement opportunities. Mentor and educate leadership, technicians, planners, and other engineers as needed. Ensure systems and equipment are designed and installed in accordance with Monsanto and regulatory standards with maintainability and life cycle cost considered.

Site automation management, support, and development in order to minimize all machine down time. Generation of weekly Pareto Analysis reports to target and repair the top issues that create the highest amount of down time. Develop from the ground up a maintenance program, Planed maintenance program, spare parts inventory and spare parts tracking systems. Work with multiple vendors for ordering replacement parts and sourcing new parts and assemblies. Engineering of new solutions for Automation Equipment and changing of SOP and all documentation when necessary. Working with the St. Louis Automation Engineering team on solutions and fixes for Automation Equipment on location. Working with all automation department supervisor and machine operators on correct safe use of automation machinery on site. Working with the Assistant Automation engineer on site teaching him techniques on all that the Automation engineer position encompasses.
