Worked on developing an RRBS data analysis pipeline using Nextflow, Python, and Groovy

I lead two three hour a week lab courses aimed at teaching introductory biology skills to undergraduates.

Researching in Dr. Rana’s lab in the Department of Pediatrics in the School of Medicine. I have learned how to apply and use a variety of bioinformatics toolkits in a Linux environment for many different research projects, especially those involving single cell RNA-sequencing. I have also worked on analyzing ME-RIP and RNA-seq data

I worked in a team to create and fix bioinformatics tools that have a variety of functions including data integration and secondary analysis of many types of sequencing.

Interned at the Genomics High-Throughput Facility in UCI, where I gained some experience working with SQL, which included creating databases and performing searches. I was able to learn the basics of SQL and practice these new skills with a sample data set

A leader in the cities’ annual summer camp in which I was responsible for leading a variety of educational and artistic activities for groups of over 20 children aged 4 to 12 and working with team of other leaders

A member of the cities’ High School Youth Action Team Staff for which I was responsible for organizing events for teens in my community. I was in charge of finding local volunteer projects, organizing public forums on topics such as substance abuse, organizing an annual teen summit for teens in the entire city during a variety of speakers presented on topics promoting a healthy lifestyle.
