I specialise in rural diversification and am a member of Thorntons' Land & Rural Business team.I advise on the the purchase and sale of farms and landed estates (comprising agricultural, crofting, sporting or forestry land), and of standalone commercial woodlands and salmon fishings, including time share arrangements. I have considerable experience of advising clients, mainly landowners, in connection with the sale or occupation of land for development or diversification and of acting on behalf of both lenders and borrowers/granters of securities in relation to securing borrowings against heritage.
