About Krushangi Patel
My aspiration to contribute to impactful stem cell research has brought me to BlueRock Therapeutics where I am using a novel cell+gene platform to differentiate induced pluripotent stem cells into dopaminergic neurons to replace those lost in Parkinson's Disease. BlueRock is leading the first trial in the United States and Canada to study pluripotent stem cell-derived dopaminergic neurons in patients with Parkinson's disease.Previously, I was developing a 'blood-brain-barrier in a dish' model with stem cells to study Cerebral Small Vessel Disease at the University of Cambridge. I have experience differentiating induced pluripotent stem cells into 6 types of target cells, characterizing the cells, and using them to study diseases & therapeutics. I am excited by the potential stem cell research has in moving us closer to personalized medicine.
