A world-class off-road navigation race fashioned from the infamous Dakar Rally, BAJA RALLY strives to be North America’s most prestigious Rally Raid – and in many ways, the first of its kind. Through strategic planning with many branches of the Mexican government, the organization has set high standards for international off-road racing by providing quality overall racing affair while maintaining a minimal carbon footprint, promoting tourism & trade in Baja, and supplying job opportunities for the local community and beyond. Kyra uses her unique skills and position in the media to connect the organization – by way of photo-editorials, video features, on-going press releases, industry experiences and maintaining a social media presence – to a wide audience both familiar and unfamiliar with navigational competitions, the Dakar Rally and BAJA RALLY itself. Most media related documentation such as invites, packets, rules & regulations, press releases and so on were developed and executed by Kyra leading up to the BAJA RALLY in the Fall. She has also put into place a variety of systems to bring order to the Press application and subsequent welcoming processes. During the event, she is responsible for organizing the schedules, logistics and well-being of the VIP guests and attending Media personnel. Her role also requires creation, curation and management of the company’s social media presence – implementing a language, style and attitude with the intention of making BAJA RALLY both personable, inspirational and at times admirable. In conjunction with the organization’s newly appointed Board of Directors, Kyra constantly brainstorms on solutions to outstanding issues and hunts for further opportunities to make the BAJA RALLY a house-hold name.
