It's amazing the things you can achieve when you're having fun.Among the activities I have been involved in initiating and running at Upgraded is Upgraded Life Festival, the largest health startup event in northern Europe, with over 900 visitors in 2015, 1100 visitors in 2016 and 1200 visitors in 2017. Upgraded is also the initiator and curator of the health-track at SLUSH, one of the largest startup conferences in the world.At Upgraded I have also been involved in initiating projects such as "Tell and Improve" (Kertomalla Paranee), an initiative to improve cancer patient treatment with organizations like Novartis and the Hospital Region of Helsinki and Uusimaa (HUS). The project crowdsourced feedback from people all over the country, and led to hundreds of improvement suggestions. As a result of the intitiative, HUS made several improvements to the way they treat cancer patients. Among them HUS:- changed their processes so that the nurse treating the patient always is the same, - formed a follow-up polyclinic, which supports patients post treatment,- added a info screens with real-time information to the reception areas, to replace paper notices.For the duration of my chairmanship, I prepared Upgraded for a merger with Healthtech Finland. I have the final responsibility for the performance of our Local Committee and my main task is to lead and advice the Executive Board, making sure that the requirements set by the Member Committee (which runs the organization on a national level in Finland) are fulfilled.

CF-Opiskelijamessut Oy organizes yearly a student recruitment fair in Finland. With over 80 companies and 4000 students attending, the fair is one of the biggest of its kind in Finland. CF-Opiskelijamessut Oy is a limited liability company, owned by seven student organizations.

I designed, manufactured and sold video camera equipment, particularly a special type of stabilizing camera handle which allows accurate and stable filming from a low point of view. The properties of the camera handle allow the camera operator to do fast moves in a smooth way. The main target groups for the product were teenagers and young adults who make their own skiing/snowboarding/skating movies.Being the first one to offer such a product to consumers in Finland back in 2009, the brand name I used for the product became a synonym for the specific type of product among the target group.I own a design patent which protects the design of the main product.The main purpose of creating this business was to acquire experience of running a company, and was intended to function as a hobby. By taking care of everything from acquiring raw materials, manufacturing, selling, bookkeeping and customer service, it gave me a good insight in the operating functions of a small-business. The operations were put down in 2011, as I moved over to a larger project.

The S Group is a Finnish retailing cooperative organisation with its head office in Helsinki. I held several positions at both SOK (retail) and S-Bank, starting from customer service, to being involved in the process of opening new retail locations. My work at S-group gave me a strong encounter with the concept of 'customer is king', and it sparked my interest in the field of customer behavior.
