I advocated on behalf of employers in matters in state court, federal court, and before arbitration panels throughout the country. I successfully represented public and private employers in administrative matters before agencies such as the DOL and the EEOC. I advised employers in matters involving employee handbook policies and procedures, litigation mitigation/risk avoidance, and discipline and termination. I was also a frequent speaker and presenter on issues of wage and hour compliance, accommodations, discrimination/harassment/retaliation, and diversity & inclusion best practices. During my time at Ogletree, I successfully:* Obtained a dismissal of a race/sex discrimination/harassment claim filed in Texas federal court for a staffing agency.* Prepared 6th circuit appellate brief securing a ruling affirming dismissal for national retailer.* Obtained a dismissal of race/age discrimination claims filed in Tennessee federal court via Motion for Summary Judgment for a national retailer.* Prepared appellate briefs and appeared before 10th Circuit twice securing a ruling affirming the lower court’s decision in favor of federal contractor and again for a national home improvement retailer.* Obtained dismissal of wrongful termination claims filed in Oklahoma federal court via Motion to Dismiss for national home improvement retailer.* Obtained dismissal of race and age discrimination claims filed in Oklahoma federal court via Motion for Summary Judgment for federal contractor.* Obtained dismissal of workers compensation retaliation lawsuit filed in Oklahoma state court via Motion to Dismiss for global pet food company.* Obtained favorable rulings on behalf of employer in arbitration on a breach of a non-compete and trade secrets claim resulting in an arbitration award in employer’s favor.* Assisted in several high level, confidential workplace investigations.
