Work as part of the Sacramento Shade Team, responsible for contributing to the mission of the Sacramento Tree Foundation. Assist individuals to choose the best type and location of trees for maximum energy saving in their homes and promoting program to new audiences. Help community groups, schools and park districts to organize tree plantings in public places. Act as the liaison between the Sacramento Tree Foundation and community members, organizations and institution to help create best urban forest for the region.Actively seek out new opportunities for promoting the program by educate customers, community members, volunteers and the general public as to the importance of urban forest and its benefits and encourage tree plantings to increase the urban forest canopy. Organize Community workshops and outreach events

Last Salary: US$ 16200.00 per annum.Formulate sound policies, guidelines and strategies for Forestry Research in line with the corporate plan. Conduct and promote research into forest development and conservation of forest-based resources in Forest Seeds, Nursery Management, Forest Tree Breeding, and Management & Silviculture of Plantations & Natural Forests, Forest Health and Forest Fire Management in plantation forestry. Participate in the development, design and implementation of projects negotiated with overseas donors, other research organizations, client groups and where appropriate attract external funding. Contribute to operational planning and project management, including setting milestone, preparing budgets, monitoring expenditure, evaluating research outcomes and reporting results and financial control. Collect, collate, evaluate and analyze project data and publish the result as may be appropriate. Ensure effective staff management by being involved in recruitment, coaching, team building and staff training. Maintain an active individual professional development program and also to the development of subordinates professionally in technical fields. Be a member of multidisciplinary team and supervise technical and support staff of 31 including custodians. Communicate effectively with colleagues (forestry) staff, clients and stakeholders both orally and in writing. Manage the genetic improvement program for Sweitenia macrophylla (Mahogany) and supervised forest tree seed collections for operational planting programs, seed storage and distribution as required.

Contributed to the nursery experimental designs for vegetative propagation program, fertilizer management for container raised stocks and potting media trials.
