November 2006 saw the birth of ‘Elbow’ – a team of 8 engineering students and 1 medical student from different colleges and fields. Our team comprised of Anbhagazhan, Balaji, Gopi krishna, Praveen, Jyotsna, karthikeyan, Krithika, and Hariprashanth. Headed by Kumar.LThe objective of our team is to construct innovative projects that would benefit society and use the skills gained along the process to start an organization that would manufacture these products and become successful entrepreneurs.By the end of the year 2008, we had presented our innovations at more than 38 institutions across India, among which were prestigious institutions like VIT, ANNA university, IIT'S, BITS Pilani and Goa, NITK Surathkal.etc.Our projects earned honorable mentions on IEEE magazines and website, as well as in news papers like The Hindu, The Times of India, Business Today, ergo,Dhinathandi and Dhinamalar tabloids….etc.Kumar.L)and Balaji participated in India Innovation Pioneers Challenge 2008conducted by the Department of Science and Technology, Intel & Indo-US Science and Technology Forum and secured the India’s second best innovation. (among 258 entries) in this nation wide contest. This was our first step to becoming successful entrepreneurs as we received Rs.1, 00,000 /- as cash prize. We were honored at the award ceremony that took place at Delhi on 18.9.08 and was presided over by Shri. Kapil Sibal Honorable Minister for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, who highly lauded their effort and presented them the award,. We were also highly appreciated by all the other dignitaries present.Team Elbow has won many prestigious awards including,” well written business plan” award from CEO’s of TATA Motors, TATA Steel, and TATA consultancy services in PANIIT 2008, and Secured first place in Business plan contest with MBA Degree conducted by LIBA.etc.
