CBT Nuggets is a producer of IT training videos geared towards IT certifications. Initially hired to redesign and support the network at CBT Nuggets, I quickly became the IT Director as well as a member of the DevOps department in charge of architecture and deployment of our web site on Amazon Web Services(AWS). Some my responsibilities and achievements at CBT Nuggets:- Provided a scalable network design to keep up with 3x company growth and increased need for network stability and performance.- Network expansion to remote offices with redundant site-site VPN as well as redundant VPN connectivity to AWS.- DevOps level of competency working with AWS networking.- Automated Network deployment at AWS using Cloud Formation and CI/CD pipeline.- Network and Cloud Based Resource monitoring using a wide variety of tools.- Windows server administration/Linux Server administration (various flavors).- Directed the construction and move of Network Resources to new company headquarters as well as construction of an off-site BitCoin data center.- Providing solutions to Cloud and On-Prem networking challenges to enhance productivity and ensure the smooth flow of business processes.- Setup Cisco UCS/VMWare/NetApp system to replace legacy virtual servers. This significantly increased capacity and reliability resulting in improved uptime.- Simplified management of WiFi infrastructure by replacing Cisco WLAN solution with Cloud based Meraki and Mist Wifi Solutions.

A member of the team that provides support for the ImageCast radiology system for all of PeaceHealth. My primary function was to support the virtual server infrastructure that housed the ImageCast system and to provide monitoring and alerting, which was not present when I arrived. In addition, I provided software support for users of the ImageCast system..

Primary responsibility is with the overall connectivity of the District’s data and voice network including Internet connectivity. I am also responsible for the systems that support network connectivity such as Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP, NTP, firewall services and application servers driving support services. - Championed the use of VMWare providing server consolidation, cost savings and reliability.- Established a helpdesk ticketing system using Request Tracker open source software providing 4J with a single interface for end-user support along with issue tracking and reporting.- Directed the implementation of SSL VPN technology and redundant Firewall/IDP services.

Member of a team of network and system administrators that were responsible for corporate wide network connectivity, network systems, Domain Controllers and system wide application servers. In addition, I was responsible for network services such as Internet connectivity, external VPN connectivity, Firewall services, NTP, DNS, SMTP and WWW services.

Manager of the Network Services Department and the company's sole Network Engineer. Rogue Wave had multiple sales and development offices throughout the US and Europe. My main responsibility was to engineer and maintain secure connectivity to all locations.One of my major accomplishments while working at Rogue Wave was to convert our international T1 connectivity to VPN connections. This saved the company thousands of dollars per month and greatly improved the reliability and performance of the international network while adding additional security.

Responsible for the overall operation of the company’s IT department. I was the manager of an IT staff of 3 individuals and directed all IT system related activities. I was responsible for the preparation and management of the IT budget as well as the Corporate Capital Asset budget. The network at Dynamix was mainly Novell but had NT and UNIX components for e-mail and Internet system support. My technician duties were to design and maintain the network infrastructure which consisted of multiple LAN and WAN segments, ~400 nodes consisting of PC's, Macs and UNIX workstations as well as to monitor and maintain the Novell and NT file Servers.
