    In addition to leading a team of three to successfully reach our $3.5 million campaign goal, I also initiated several operational projects to improve the working conditions of the Development Department.Using existing on-site surplus office dividers, and with the pre-approval of all staff and the facilities department, I redesigned the open-office floor plan to allow the entire development staff to work on the same floor of the building, work alongside functional team members, and I increased working space for our Administrative Support staff. I also reestablished a meeting room--that had become a dumping ground for unwanted items--to allow for impromptu meetings and project space.I wrote a detailed report to show that the effective cost of the daily computer network and software outages significantly outweighed the costs of upgrading the hardware and network, allowing for a full systems upgrade a year later.I also wrote a detailed report to educate management on the costs associated with the weekly two-hour full-staff meetings, and the traditional reporting meeting format. The organization switched to a monthly full-staff meeting and changed the meeting format to one of planning and problem-solving discussions.I worked with the development team to clean out the campaign supply room, develop a better inventory system for campaign materials and did away with longstanding practices such as the Balloon Requisition Form.

    Co-Founder and co-leader of the band Tall Jazz, a trio of vibes, bass, and drums. It was one of the most rewarding and demanding jobs I've ever had.I've completed 37 weeks of Outdoor School and always worked under the nickname "Jazz Man". A song I composed is still performed each week by camp staff as part of closing ceremonies.
