Working/studying at Youth with a Mission Townsville gave me many opportunities, including the chance to:- Build relationships with people in the local community. - Travel down the East Coast of Australia to give talks at schools, churches, and conferences, informing people about who we are and what we are doing.- Overcome language barriers to communicate to people who require medical care.- Adapting to new and diverse cultures to build relationships with Australian Aboriginal Peoples and tribe members from Papua New Guinea.Accomplishments: - Raised £7000 in 4 months to pay for this trip; I worked as a painter in a school, spoke in nearby churches, did odd jobs, hosted bake sales and inspired people to become monthly supporters.
