Participated in strategic communications planning, including organizational rebranding. Managed website and social media; wrote, curated, and edited newsletter; wrote blog posts; and assisted with visual design. Improved online presence through timely and consistent updates. Supported fundraising operations, including grant writing, membership drive, and an annual event.

Worked in a three-person team to identify potential changes to the County’s transportation concurrency management program in response to revenue shortfall and other issues. Final report will serve as a basis for developing a concurrency-related amendment to the King County Comprehensive plan in 2016. Conducted a literature review, interviews with other jurisdictions, and a policy analysis. Presented initial findings to the Transportation Concurrency Expert Review Panel. Participated in the 2014 Evans School Research Symposium.

Development Associate: Helped manage the Global Leadership Council (GLC), a donor volunteer group of influential individuals who are ambassadors for NRDC’s priorities. Donor outreach and cultivation included trip and event planning; facilitating educational opportunities with NRDC experts; and strategic support, which included working to increase GLC presence and engagement on the West Coast. Also provided support to the Development Operations Department by writing proposals and briefings. Development Assistant: Provided administrative support to the Development Department and its Director. Wrote and edited correspondence, reports, and proposals. Managed Development’s section of the Annual Report and the application process for EarthShare, a program for workplace giving campaigns.

Participated in many aspects of book production, including: researching and writing for non-fiction children’s books; conducting photo research; proofreading, editing, and fact-checking books; conducting photo research; and working in InDesign and Quark. Supported a staff of five.

Assisted in the research for and writing of the 2005 Environmental Indicator Report for California’s Central Valley.
