Currently, I am a 5th year Ph.D. candidate in the lab of Dr. John-Demian Sauer in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology. My graduate thesis work focuses on characterizing genes required for Listeria monocytogenes cytosolic survival. The goal of my thesis project is to characterize a gene of unknown function that is required for Listeria cytosolic survival.

I worked as an intern in the BioTDR/BioRx department with Dr. Sunday Oladipupo. My project goal was to characterize a potential cognate receptor of a novel target involved in fibrogenesis and investigating their role in mediating the target’s fibrotic function.

Post baccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP) is an NIH- funded program. It is a one year training program that encourages that are historically marginalized communities who recently obtained a bachelor's degree to pursue a year of research. I worked in Dr. Joshua Woodward's lab in the Department of Microbiology.
