I was responsible for assisting fellow Postdocturtoral colleagues in various projects relating to research done within the group. I have developed experience with numerous laboratory instrumentations and procedures at the Rutgers MSE department.• Examined rare earth doped upconversion nanoparticles as alternative hydro/solvothermal phosphors for NIR to visible/UV upconversion in non-invasive and highly effective biological imaging. Conducted the synthesis, characterization, and surface modification of rare earth doped NaYF₄ upconverting nanoparticles.• Contributed to research analysis and literature pertaining to multifarious methods as to increasing the upconversion luminescence intensity of rare earth nanoparticles utilizing low incident power.• Participated in the environmentally friendly extraction of rare earth elements applying leaching process to fly ash and identification of elements using light analysis• Successfully operated high pressure hydrothermal reactors in the crystallization of ceramic materials
