(VB.NET/C#/MS-SQL/Windows Media Server) Users could watch conferences live at one of four levels of quality depending on their type of membership. Archived media could also be watched by users at a later date. Archives were searchable and an authentication ticket system was used to ensure requests for streaming content came from authenticated users.Creating recurring billing Windows Service which would process users’ credit card details on a monthly cycle. (C#/MS-SQL/Web Services) The service would attempt to process the payment and notify the accounting department via automated e-mail if the transaction failed. The system event log and e-mails to the IT Department were also used when exceptions occurred. Used mutex to protect critical section after card has been charged and before db has been updated.Learned the languages of C# and VB.NET on the job.Wrote a variety of Windows and Web Applications in C# and VB.NET, integrating with MS-SQL Server databases.Experienced working in a small team of developers from different cultures and nationalities based in Toronto, Canada.
