You don’t know, what you don’t know. I was so conditioned to think life was hard and you had to work in a job you didn’t completely like. It was only by seeing one of my sisters do it and make a success of it that made me take this seriouslyWhen I watch people, like my best friend, be able to say goodbye to a six-figure corporate career that had him on the verge of a breakdown and now be happy and stress free, I know I’m in the right place I work hard and I have a strong work ethic; I’ve always had that. Within the first six months I had been promoted four times and by nine months I was earning four times my police officer’s salary. Without any of the stress or trauma associated with life in the job. The money of course is great, but it’s more than that. I feel valued. I’m surrounded by great people. I’ve made some amazing friends. Most of all I’m happy.The best thing is you don’t need to have a particular career history to replicate – or exceed – my success (I’m not competitive, I’m happy to help you achieve more than me). My colleagues come from all backgrounds; some have been very successful in one field. Others, like me, have moved around a bit, trying to find their ‘thing’. The only thing we really have in common is our commitment, our passion to help others and our work ethic.You also don’t need much time. Both me and my best friend started a few hours a week around really busy full-time jobs. I have always wanted to help people and loved watching the cops on programmes like The First 48 solve murders and arrest the bad guys.
