Working for Kiewit Mining Group, my main duties included helping the survey and blasting crews at the Buckskin Mine near Gillette, WY. I assisted the office and field engineers to communicate mine progression by surveying the pit via GPS, and also surveyed hills in order to calculate the volume of push dirt available for use in the construction of a secondary access ramp. With the blasting crew, I assisted in the loading, stemming, and blast-hole sequencing.
