Pharmacy Manager, Clinical Oncology Pharmacist

Strategic Planning and Administration• Report to the Chief Nursing Executive and Director of Patient Services• Develop a long-term human resource plan and recruitment strategy • Oversee departmental human resource duties, such as interviewing and hiring• Promote the pharmacy profession and the importance of pharmacy within institutional practice• Represent Temiskaming Hospital at regional meetings with partners such as the NE LHIN, HPPG, NEON, NECC, CNISP, and NWTS• Liaise and develop working relationships with community pharmacies and regional hospital pharmacy departmentsOperations• Manage the medication distribution system• Manage the hospital Medication Formulary• Develop short and long term capital equipment plans• Identify service gaps and build business cases to evaluate their requirements• Perform monthly budget reviews and variance analysis• Develop departmental budget for HAPS• Implement cost containment measures within department and the institution• Promote staff professional development, training, and certifications • Perform therapeutic review of oncology regimens and oncology regimen coverage• Collaborate with contracted Telepharmacy Services regional leads for quality improvement plansOrganizational Practices• Develop and implement institutional safe medication practices • Develop and review medication-related hospital-wide policies and procedures• Ensure organizational practices are in accordance with standards set by OCP, Accreditations Canada, NAPRA, USP, and Choosing Wisely• Establish pharmacist code-blue response• Establish the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program• Develop internal medication protocols and reference guides Committee Work:• Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee• Hazardous Drug Committee• Quality and Patient Safety Committee• Medical Services Committee (ad hoc)• Order Set Committee• Digital Health Strategy Committee• COVID-19 Task Force
